Thread fan blades are used to keep the spool or cone of thread from moving around in the resting place at the back of the machine. You may use 2 or 3 for each side of the machine. They are placed on top of the spool pin and are secured with the small screw. If your machine has the new "Spool Rods" that extend the spool pin for use with different sized specialty threads, then your machine may not have the small screw. In this case, you merely unscrew the rod, place the fan blades on top of the spool pin, then screw in the spool rod to hold the fan blades in place.
